Jerome Le Banner: “No More K-1”

Jerome Le Banner: “No More K-1”

In an interview released today by French website ikusa.fr, Jerome Le Banner had some bad things to say about K-1, later on focusing specifically on Mr. Tanikawa. Here’s a bit of what he had to say:

“I’m not a K-1 fighter.” No more K-1! “They don’t pay the premium of combat which is due to me!”

“I’m lucky for me it’s just a single fight.” Other fighters them…”

“He added more, implying an open hint which said that several other combatants have still not been paid. A kind of treason for a person who has helped build the reputation of the K-1 since its inception this 15 years ago.”

Le Banner then went on to take shots at Mr. Tanikawa:

“I am very grateful to master Kazuyoshi Ishii.” (founder of the K-1 was the first to bring Le Banner to the K-1). But after there is a species of clown who appeared. Yes gentlemen journalists you smile and you surely understood that I was talking about M.Tanikawa. This person is just a puppet. “I have still not been paid for my fight on December 31 and until Tanikawa is not president, I will not fight for K-1.”

You can read the rest of the interview here, translated. Le Banner goes on to talk about his foray into pro wrestling in Japan under the IGF banner.
