The event will be happening on March 6th at Sporthallen Zuid in Amsterdam.

Hesdy Gerges is set to face Daniel Ghita in a heavyweight bout. Both fighters appeared at the K-1 World Grand Prix Final event on December 11th; Ghita dropped a decision to Gokhan Saki in the quarterfinals of the night’s tournament while Gerges defeated Yusuke Fujimoto in a non-tournament bout. I’ve seen no indication that this bout is going to be for Gerges’s It’s Showtime heavyweight title.

According to the It’s Showtime website, Andy Souwer and Lhoucine “Aussie” Ouzgni are scheduled to meet in a 70kg max bout. Souwer, the two-time K-1 World MAX Champion, took a decision over Pajonsuk at It’s Showtime 44 in Athens, Greece on December 11th. Ouzgni fought for the vacant It’s Showtime 77kg max title on December 18th, losing to Russian Artem Levin. There are a couple of factors which make me uncertain if this bout is actually on, but hey, it’s posted on the website for now.

Artur Kyshenko is scheduled to meet Gago Drago in another 70kg max bout. Drago has split his last six bouts while the Ukranian, Kyshenko, has gone 4-2 in that same span. Kyshenko failed to qualify for the K-1 World MAX Final back in October when he dropped a decision to Mohammed Khamal. Meanwhile, Drago defeated Khamal by decision before losing to Yoshihiro Sato in the semifinals of that same tournament in November.

Mohamed Medhar, the young fighter who defeated Drago in September, is set to meet Vos Gym fighter Warren Stevelmans. The South African, Stevelmans, dropped consecutive bouts to Mike Zambidis and Chahid Oulad El Hadj before topping Kenneth van Eesvelde at It’s Showtime 45.

Rounding out the bouts announced thus far, Rachid Belaini will take on William Diender. A member of Team Aerts, Diender has dropped the majority of his bouts the past couple years. Belaini, of Mike’s Gym, upset Thai fighter Kem Sitsongpeenong with an impressive knockout victory at It’s Showtime 43 back in September. While those recent trajectories may seem rather distinct, this will be a rematch of a 2008 bout which Diender won by decision.
