Artem Levin Scheduled to Fight Kaoklai Kaenorsing

Scheduled to take place February 23, 2011 in Chelyabinsk, Russia Artem Levin from Russia will fight Kaoklai Kaennorsing of Thailand. The main event could prove to be Levin’s next in the line of big achievements already accomplished in 2010 including beating Yodsanklai at the IFMA finals in Thailand albeit it under amateur rules with padded gear.

Levin also recently won an It’s Showtime belt in December 18th, 2010 against L’Houcine Ouzgni by stoppage from a TKO in Amsterdam, Holland. Levin’s win comes at an interesting time when it’s Showtime just dismissed their 75kg champion Cosmo Alexandre for fighting on the 2010 King’s Cup event in Thailand.

Kaoklai got his claim to fame internationally by his participation in K-1 by fighting and beating heavyweights in the kickboxing promotion such as Alexei Ignashov, Dennis Kang, and the famous flying kick KO of American “Mighty” Mo Siglia. Kaoklai’s career has since been mostly spent in full rules Muay Thai against international competition with mixed results against Nathan Corbett, Clifton Brown and Thaiboxers mostly at the cruiser weight limit.

This bout will be one of the few Artem Levin has had at his now larger weight.

Very frankly, Kaoklai has been past his best for quite some time and Artem Levin’s momentum is still in motion. It will still be interesting to see if Kaoklai has enough tactical experience and will left to overcome Levin who seems to be improving with each fight though its hard to gauge what could be Levin’s upcoming performance based on It’s Showtime modified rules. Also participating will be Australia’s Steven Maxwell and the United Kingdom’s Marlon Hant.
