Divisions of the competition
Contestnats can participate in one of the following divisions:
– male division – over 14 years of age
– female division – over 14 years of age

Bantamweight From 51 not over 54 kg
Featherweight From 54 not over 57 kg
Lightweight From 57 not over 60 kg
Light Welterweight From 60 not over 63.5 kg
Welterweight From 63.5 not over 67 kg
Light Middleweight From 67 not over 71 kg
Middleweight From 71 not over 76 kg
Light Heavyweight From 76 not over 81 kg
Cruiserweight From 81 not over 86 kg
Heavyweight From 86 not over 91 kg
Super Heavyweight Over 91 kg
Female Division
Pin weight From 42 not over 45 kg
Light Flyweight From 45 not over 48 kg
Flyweight From 48 not over 51 kg
Bantamweight From 51 not over 54 kg
Featherweight From 54 not over 57 kg
Lightweight From 57 not over 60 kg
Light Welterweight From 60 not over 63.5 kg
Welterweight From 63.5 not over 67 kg
Light Middleweight From 67 not over 71 kg
Middleweight From 71 not over 76 kg
*If there are less than 3 contestants in one weight category, the organizer can decide
to join the category with another one.
Weigh-in
The official weigh –in will take place on the 12th November 2010 from 13:00 in the
sports hall. The weigh-in procedure will be supervised by the main referee. Fighters
are obliged to bring with them the following documents:
– doctors report note, stating they are in good health and capable of participating in
full contact fight /the report must not be older than 6 months/ – written either in
Slovak language, Czech language or English language.
– health insurance card
– written consent of parents, who state they agree with their child fighting in Muay
Thai / if the fighter is younger than 18 years of age/ – – written either in Slovak
language, Czech language or English language.
– starting fee 10E
Matchmaking
The matchmaking will be done by a draw. The fights will be organised as an
elimination tournament. There will be no fights for the 3rd place, two fighters will
obtain bronze medal.
Protection gear and equipment
All contestants must wear the following protection gear at the Slovak Muay Thai
Open tournament fights:
– 10 OZ gloves
– mouth guard
– groin guard
– shin guards
– elbow protection
– head guard with open face for seniors, head guard with cheek guards for juniors
under 16years of age
– body protection is compulsory for juniors and absolute beginners /up to 3 fights/,
senior fighters with more than 3 fights do not have to wear the body protection, both
fighters must have the same kinds of protection,
– women must wear breast protection, otherwise they have to wear the body
protection
– handwraps are allowed, hand wraps must not be longer than 5m, wrist or ankle
taping is forbidden at amateur tournaments
All equipment must be checked by the main referee prior to the fight.
We advise fighters to use equipment of recognised brands made for muay thai.
Timing of fights
The tournament will be run using 3 rounds of 2 minutes each with a 1-minute rest in
between. The final fights will also be run for 3 round of 2 minutes each with a 1-
minute rest in between. In case of draw in the finals, there is a possibility of one extra
round.
Competition rules
The fights are held under full Muay Thai rules, including elbows, knees and full

Awarding
All contestants will get official diplomas. The winner of each weight category will get
a trophy, while the participants on the 2nd and 3rd places will obtain medals. All
medallists will get presents from the organiser and sponsors. All winners will be
awarded at an official closing ceremony on Sunday the 14th November.
Fees
The starting fee for one contestant is 10E.
Registration
If you would like to register for the Slovak Muay Thai Open tournament, please send

The nomination must contain:
– Full name of participant
– Weight category
– Male or female division
– Nationality
– Age
– Total number of fights /in all comat sports/
Registration of contestants is possible until 30th October 2010. In case your
country is not in European Union, please chcek if visas to Slovakia are required. In
case you will need to apply for visa, please sen dus list of your particpants as soon as
possible and we will send you back an official invitation.
Accommodation
The official accommodation facility for the tournament is:
– Hotel Lux :
Single Room Standard – 40E/per room/per night – including breakfast
Double Room Standard – 50E/per room/per night – including breakfast
Single Room Business – 55E/per room/per night – including breakfast
Double Room Business – 65E/ per room/per night – including breakfast

There is also a possibility to accommodate in a Hostel facility, however there is only
a limited space. So if you wish to accommodate in the Hostel, please let us know as
soon as possible.
